It
seems like it’s a Christmas tradition to ice skate at Somerset House’s skating
rink. At least for those who dare to ice skate, because I prefer to watch
others doing it…
To
coincide with the beginning of the ice skating season, an exhibition has opened
a few days ago with the title “Fashioning Winter". This is about nine displays,
each curated by fashion expert, telling the story of winter through fashion.
Some
of the displays are really interesting and placed in some amazing places
throughout the Somerset historic building, but it’s quite difficult to spot all
nine displays. There are no signs or at least a guide to help you to look
around. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find all nine of them.
Later,
I learned that there is a guide in PDF that you can download from their
website. Don’t go there without that guide in your bag! Very useful!
The
one that I enjoyed the most was the one that Serge Martynov and Sofia Hedman
curated, focusing on the color white.
